The Jewish New Year is called Rosh Hashanah. It is celebrated in honor of the creation of the world and the coming of the new year. The date of the Jewish New Year celebration is flexible. In 2017 it falls on September 21-22. These are the 1st and 2nd days of the Jewish month of Tishrei.
In Israel, Rosh Hashanah is celebrated for two days. On this holiday, it is customary to analyze the past year and prepare for the future.
