Shops in Kosicehave a large selection of European brands and relatively low prices. It’s not for nothing that residents of Western Ukraine often come here for shopping.
Inside the Aupark shopping center there are many stores of famous European brands
The best place to go shopping in Kosice is in one of the city’s two shopping centers. One of them – Aupark shopping center is located a two-minute walk from Glavna a> – the central street and pedestrian area of Kosice. Another city shopping center, Optima, is located in the suburbs of Kosice (near the city airport). It takes quite a long time to walk here (about 40-50 minutes), so it is better to get to it from the center by public transport (bus No. 10 goes here from the center).
Aupark shopping center in Kosice is located in the city center
Both shopping centers are open seven days a week, until 9 pm. The stores located in Aupark and Optima partially duplicate each other, so visiting both shopping centers in Kosice is not advisable. In our opinion, if you have settled in the city center, it will be enough to just go to Aupark; there is no need to go to Optima.
Shopping in Aupark. The store has three floors. At the very top there is a food and recreation area.
The Aupark Kosice shopping center has three floors and a modern design. The following international brands are represented here: MANGO, TERRANOVA, NEW YORKER, REPLAY, ORSAY, TOMMY HILFIGER, C&A, GUESS, S.OLIVER, TOM TAILOR, Tchibo, H&M, TOMMY HILFIGER DENIM, NAPAPIJRI, Mustang jeans, U.S.Polo , INTERSPORT. There is also a grocery store “Billa”, a large hardware and electronics store, several stores with accessories, a children’s store, as well as a food and recreation area (on the third floor).

The Atrium Optima shopping center has a similar selection of stores. There are Benetton, Columbia, C&A, H&M, Tchiboo, Cropp, Deichmann, DM, Ecco, Envy, Guess, Humanic, Marks and Spencer, New Yorker, Orsay, Promod, Reserved, Terranova, Hypernova grocery store, zone rest and food. In general, this store is larger in area than Aupark and there are more shops here. But again, if you are mainly interested in H&M and C&A, then there is no point in coming here. These stores are also located in Aupark.

Inside the Optima Shopping Center in Kosice
You can also find several large stores on Glavna Street. There are Marks and Spencer (the store is located in the Hilton building), DM (a household chemicals and cosmetics store) and Tescodepartment store. I would like to write about the latter separately. If Aupark is located at the beginning of Glavna Street, then Tesco is at its very end. This store is an entire department store with several floors (on the first two floors there is a grocery store, the upper floors are occupied by clothing, household chemicals, cosmetics, accessories, everything for the home, etc.).
Recreation and food area in Optima
After visiting all the shops in Kosice, we came to the conclusion that Tesco is the cheapest in terms of prices for food and goods. A little more expensive – located in the Aupark Billa shopping center and located in the Lidl railway station building. For some reason, the Hypernova located in the Optima shopping center turned out to be the most expensive.
Various souvenirs can be bought on the street Glavna, as well as on the street Hrncharska (there are a number of pottery shops and souvenir shops here).
