Limassol Municipality Garden is a large and shady city park located in the center of Limassol in the area of Agias Nikolaos, next to the promenade and Akti Olympion beach. The exact address of the park is: “Vyronos Avenue, Limassol”. The best way to get here is from the city embankment, along which regular bus No. 30 runs. You will need to stop at “Municipal Gallery” or “28 October Avenue”. The main promenade of Molos can be reached on foot in 10 minutes from this park. The old town of Limassol and the port are about 20 minutes’ walk away.

Entrance to the Limassol Municipal Park is free, but it has its own opening hours (gates to the park usually open at 9 am and close at 19:00 – 19:30 depending on the season). The most convenient way to enter the park is from the embankment (here in the left corner of the park that faces the sea is its main entrance). But there are also several entrances on other sides of the park.

Many different trees grow in Limassol park

There are many different trees growing in the Limassol park. There are palm trees, pines, eucalyptus, araucaria…

The park itself is very shady; there are many large trees that create pleasant shade in the summer heat. There are gazebos, benches, fountains… Of the trees – palms, pines, plane trees, eucalyptus, cypresses, araucarias… Even in our understanding, it could even be called not a park, but a botanical garden, since many different plants grow here and trees, some of them have information signs.

Children's playground in the Limassol municipal park

Children’s playground in the Limassol municipal park. There are two of them here. They are large and in the shade. But they are already in need of minor repairs.

On the territory of the city park there are several large playgrounds (although as of 2020 they were a little damaged and in need of repair), summer cafes, gazebos, an open summer theater (Municipal Garden Theatre) and the Limassol City Zoo (read about it on our website separate article). Also, part of the park is given over to city museums.

City Museum in the park

Pattichion Municipal Museum is a museum of the cultural heritage of Limassol.

Every year in September the park hosts a popular local holiday, the Wine Festival, which attracts many people (entrance to the festival is paid), as well as other events, including for children.

In general, Masha Pasha liked the Municipal Park. It is not as modern and beautiful as the Molos embankment park and seems a little abandoned (a little renovation could do with it), but it also has its own charm. It will also be nice to sit here in the shade of trees in the summer heat.

Green spaces in the park

The green spaces in the park are quite dense, there is a lot of shade.

A visit to this park can be combined with a visit to the local zoo located on its territory, as well as the nearby Limassol Archaeological Museum (but this not for everyone). And on the opposite side of the park from the embankment there is a popular Starbucks cafe.

Some of the park's alleys need repairs

Some of the park’s alleys are in need of repair; it wouldn’t hurt to change the asphalt. But the lawns are looked after, they are beautiful and neat.
