The Festival of Lights Hanukkah is a very ancient celebration. It began to be celebrated back in the 2nd century BC. Today in Israel, Hanukkah is not an official holiday and there is no prohibition on working on these days. But Hanukkah is greatly welcomed by children who are not studying these days. That’s why Hanukkah is sometimes called a “children’s holiday.”
