The festival “The Long Night of Museums” (Lange Nacht der Museen) takes place annually in Berlin on the night of the last Saturdays to Sundays in August. About 100 different museums, galleries, exhibitions, archives, historical monuments and other cultural institutions of the city take part in the festival. Museum Night in Berlin starts at 18:00 on Saturday evening and ends at 02:00 on Sunday night. By purchasing a single ticket for 18 euros (the price is valid for 2016), tourists and local residents can visit all the city’s museums participating in the festival. For ease of movement between museums, you can use a special museum bus (travel on it is included in the price of a single ticket), which runs all night along a specific route.
The Night of Museums festival was held in Berlin for the first time in 1997. This project turned out to be so successful that after that the “Night of Museums” began to be held in many other cities and countries around the world.
