Tropical Carnival in Paris is an annual colorful carnival, similar to the carnival in Rio, which usually takes place in Paris on the first Sunday in July. In 2017, the tropical carnival in Paris took place on July 2 on the Champs-Elysees.
The first tropical carnival was held in Paris in 2001. Since then, 15 such carnivals have already taken place. It takes place in one of the largest squares of the city (Place des Nations, Place de la Bastille, etc.). About 4-5 thousand dancers, musicians and singers from the Caribbean countries (Brazil, Colombia, Haiti, Guiana and other former French territories in Central and South America) take part in it. All participants dress up in colorful carnival costumes and go out to the square to sing and dance.
The event is very beautiful and also free. If possible, be sure to visit it.
