Burgas is one of the largest cities in Bulgaria, the center of the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The mild climate and low prices have made this city a popular seaside resort among tourists from Ukraine, Russia and a number of Western European countries.

Burgas itself does not have any significant historical and architectural monuments. It is rather a large (by Bulgarian standards) city with industrial zones, factories and residential areas dating back to Soviet times. True, Masha Pasha was noticed – the city has begun to actively develop in recent years. Bicycle paths are being laid en masse (there are already about 20 km of them in the city – this is the best city for cyclists in Bulgaria), shopping centers< /a>, there is a master plan for the reconstruction of old high-rise buildings (they plan to sheathe them with modern materials), the construction of a zoo and a tourist port capable of receiving large sea liners. In the city center there is a fairly large pedestrian zone, with many shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a huge Seaside Park, which stretches along the entire coastline of the city. Burgas city beach is wide and clean, according to MashaPasha.com one of the best in the region.

Burgas is a modern city and architecturally uninteresting. But if you want antiquity, then within a 20-30 minute drive from the city there are two ancient cities – nature reserves, Nessebar and Sozopol, with unique medieval Bulgarian architecture.

The climate in Burgas is mixed. From May to November, the city has a mild, warm Mediterranean climate, with an average temperature of +20 +25. It is a little warmer here than in Varna (the northern part of the Bulgarian coast), and palm trees grow. An undoubted advantage of Burgas is the absence of intense heat in summer (as, for example, in Turkey). A cool wind always blows from the sea here. But in winter it is less comfortable here – the influence of the continental climate is felt. The city is exposed to cold northern winds from the Black Sea (which can sometimes be quite strong), temperatures can drop below zero.

The water temperature in Burgasin June warms up to +21 +22 degrees. It’s the beginning of the beach season. The warmest time of the year is from the beginning of July to mid-September, when the water warms up to +24 +26 degrees Celsius. The closing of the beach season in Burgas is at the end of September. Although in October, as a rule, it is still warm here, the water temperature begins to drop rapidly. Sarafovo International Airport is located just 10-15 minutes drive from the central part of Burgas, within the city, in the eponymous Sarafovo district. It is connected to the city by regular bus service. In summer, many charters arrive at Burgas airport, but in winter there are only a few regular flights, and resort life here comes to a standstill.

The price level in Bulgaria is low, one of the lowest in Europe. Prices for a double room in a hotel during the season start from 20 euros per night. An apartment can be rented for a month in the summer for 500-600 euros. Product prices are comparable to prices in our stores. And in a cafe you can eat quite well for 6-7 euros per person.

There are not very many Hotels in Burgas, about 20, all of them are located in the city center in the area of the Seaside Park and the pedestrian zone. There are also good hotels in the Sarafovo quarter (for example, Hotel Briz, where MashaPasha stayed). But the main resort tourist areas of this region (Sunny Beach, Sozopol) are located about a 30-minute drive from here.
