Tuileries Garden is a park in Paris, located between Louvre, Seine River and Place de la Concorde. The name of the park in French is Le jardin des Tuileries.

The Tuileries Garden is quite a beautiful park. There are many sculptures, several fountains and ponds. There are both shady alleys and green lawns with neatly trimmed lawns. The grass is very clean, many French people like to sit and relax here with their children. The pedestrian paths are covered with fine gravel and sand. At the entrance to the park from Louvre Museum there is triumphal arch of Carrousel. There are also several cafes here.

The park occupies a large rectangular space – its length is almost a kilometer (920 meters) and its width is 325 meters. The park was first created on this site in 1564 as an Italian-style garden for the new Tuileries Palace, which was built in the same years (in fact, this palace was a continuation of the Louvre). Unfortunately, the buildings of that time have not survived to this day. The Tuileries Palace itself was destroyed during the events of the “French Commune”, and the Tuileries Garden was redesigned in the mid-17th century in a French geometric style. Architect Andre Le Nôtre gave the park its modern look with straight alleys and rows of chestnut trees (later plane trees were added to them).

Now the Tuileries Garden seems to consist of several parts. From the Louvre side there is a large open park – a square with flower beds in the form of an ornament. In the center of the park there is a large pond, followed by a shady forest area with large trees. Then there is another large body of water and the park ends at Place de la Concorde, behind which the green park area Champs Elysees begins. On the same side of the park is adjacent to the Orangerie Museum (a building that is closer to the embankment of the Seine River) and the National Gallery of the Jeu de Paume (closer to the residential areas of the city).

There are many sculptures in the Tuileries Garden park. They began to be installed at the end of the 18th century and did so until the end of the 20th century. Many sculptures stand among trees, bushes, or even in the middle of water. There are also quite unusual works.
