Riederalp is a Swiss ski resort located in the Alps at an altitude of two kilometers in the canton of Haute-Valais. The largest nearby town, Brig, is located 22 km down the valley. from the resort. How to get to Riederalp?

The distance from Zurich, where the airport is located, to Brig is about 195 km. It’s about two hours by train or more than 3 hours by car. Then you will still need to get to Riederalp by cable car (its lowest point is located in the village of Murel). There are no roads here and you cannot drive into Riederalp by car. This is a car-free zone.

Riederalp in winter is the center of the large ski area Riederalp-Aletsch Arena. It unites the villages of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fischeralp. There are 35 lifts and more than 250 km of trails of varying difficulty levels. There are also walking paths around the village. The cost of the ski pass is quite high – about 55 euros per day.

On the other side of this glacier is the famous mountain Jungfrau and the “Top of Europe” railway.
