Ladies beach (Ladies Beach) is the most beautiful and famous beach in Kusadasi. It is famous for its beautiful fine yellow sand and clear water.
In Turkish, the beach is called Kadınlar Denizi, that is, women’s beach. During the Ottoman Empire, only women were allowed on this beach, hence its name. Today Ladies beach is a public beach accessible to everyone. Entrance to the beach is free and it is open 24 hours a day.

Where is Ladies beach? How to get there?
Ladies Beach is located in the southern part of Kusadasi. In fact, this is the only large beach in this resort. Read more about other beaches in this area in our article: Kusadasi Beaches.
You can get to the beach from the city center by minibus (dolmus) No. 5. Travel time from Pigeon Island Fortress and pedestrian city center to the beach – about 7-8 minutes. The cost of a ticket for this bus in August 2019 was 3.25 liras. You can cover this distance on foot in about 40 minutes (the road will be steep, you need to cross a small mountain).

Embankment and shops
Along the entire beach Ladies beach there is a small pedestrian promenade, which is full of hotels, restaurants and cafes, as well as small shops selling goods for tourists. At the very beginning of the beach, in the building Hotel Ladies beach Residence there is a chain supermarket Migros. Here you can buy groceries, household goods, toys, clothes… There are no other large stores here. At the end of the embankment there is a small pharmacy. In the evening the embankment is very crowded, in the morning and afternoon there are fewer people. There is little shade, it will be hot in the open sun in summer.

Sand on Ladies beach
The Ladies beach itself looks very civilized, almost European. There are lifeguard towers, free changing rooms and showers. There are also toilets here, but they are paid (2 liras). Umbrellas on the beach are free, but you will have to pay 15 liras for a sunbed. To borrow a free umbrella during the season, you need to come to the beach very early, around 8 – 9 am. At 10 am the place will already be full of people. And at 11 – 12 o’clock in the afternoon it will be difficult to find a free sun lounger. At this time, the beach will already be completely packed with people.

The length of Ladies Beach is about 1 km, but the beach itself is quite narrow. At its widest point we will be 30 meters, and at its narrowest – about 10-15. Even though the beach is cleaned regularly, it is quite dirty and the sand is full of cigarette butts. This is all to blame for the locals who smoke a lot and, out of habit, throw cigarette butts directly into the sand. It is better to be located on the beach closer to the water, where the sand is cleaner and the sea is nearby. Advice from Masha Pasha – buy a sun umbrella in a shop on the embankment for 60-70 liras. You can place it right next to the water and thus save a lot of money. It’s cheaper than renting sunbeds for 15 liras per day.

Despite the congestion of the beach, the water here is quite clean and clear. The entrance to the water is sand, there are no stones. Near the shore the sea is very shallow, you have to walk about 20 meters to get into the water up to your waist. This is very convenient for vacationers with children. Due to the shallow sea, the buoys are located very far from the shore. Sailing to the shore by watercraft is prohibited and this is very good; there is no need to be afraid of racing jet skis and boats, which pose a serious danger on many other beaches.
Ladies beach is located on the shores of Aegean Sea. This sea is a little cooler than the Mediterranean, so those who like to swim in 30 degree warm water are better off going to Alanya or Antalya, not here. The warmest months in Kusadasi are July, August and early September. At this time of year, the water in the sea in the morning will be very clear and calm, but cool (+24, +25 degrees). By evening the water will warm up to +27 +28, but after lunch waves will appear that will stir up the sand and the water will become cloudy. In the evening, the waves are sometimes quite large, so you won’t be able to swim calmly, but jumping on the waves is the best!
But due to the fact that the sea is cooler, the heat here will be tolerated much more easily. In fact, the intense heat will be felt after 13:00 and before 17:00. The rest of the time it is quite comfortable here.

Among the disadvantages of the beach, in addition to the cool water, one should also mention seaweed, which washes up to the shore every 2-3 days. But here the algae is small, similar to dust and rot (this is not the giant seaweed that often washes up on the shores of Bulgarian beaches, for example). And they wash ashore often in spots, that is, in the sea you can find areas free of algae in the water.
Hotels on Ladies beach
Another advantage of Ladies beach is that there are many small hotels located right on the embankment, on the first line from the sea.
