The Berlin Light Festival is a popular annual show that attracts many tourists and locals. The festival starts in Berlin on a Friday in early October and lasts 10 days (until Sunday of the following week). In 2016, the 12th such festival will be held from October 7 to October 16. Humboldt University. Berlin

The first such festival was held in Berlin in 2005. As part of the festival, in the evening, unique light projection installations begin to be broadcast on the walls and facades of famous historical buildings in Berlin. The visual effect is further enhanced by the use of lamps, spotlights and fireworks. More than 70 city objects are beautifully illuminated, including Berlin Cathedral, Brandenburg Gate, Alexander Square, facades of buildings Museum Island, TV tower, the main street Unter den Linden and other famous historical sites of the city.

For the convenience of tourists and city residents, the Berlin authorities are launching a special excursion bus “LightLiner”, which runs between all festival sites.
