Donut Festival in Lviv (Holy Pampukha) is an annual festival that traditionally takes place on 7-9 January on Rynok Square – the central square of Lviv.
The first Donut Festival was held in Lviv in 2007. Since then, this annual event has attracted many citizens and visitors to the city.
As part of the festival, folk festivities are held in the central square of the city for several days – people come here to try different types of donuts, sing carols, and watch the performance of participants in the competition for the best nativity scene.
Donuts are made according to local recipes, as well as original and foreign ones. Various competitions are held within the framework of the festival – the best donut eater competition, the best housewife competition (for the most delicious donut), the “devils and angels” competition, etc.
