Yom Kippur - Day of Judgment @ Израиль

Yom Kippur (Day of Judgment) is a general Israeli public holiday, which is celebrated on the 10th day from the celebration of the Jewish New Year. This day is the day of judgment – the day of atonement for everyone’s sins and the day of divine judgment.

On this day, religious Jews are prohibited from engaging in any activities other than prayers and analysis of their deeds. The rest of the citizens also do not go to work on this day, Israeli cities are simply dying out. Public transport, shops, restaurants, television are not working. Many people go to the synagogue. As a result of prayers, each Jew receives an assessment of his deeds for the year.

With the advent of Yom Kippur, strict fasting begins until the end of Judgment Day.

On this day, major cities in Israel fall into the power of cyclists, who can freely ride on roads, highways and highways completely empty of cars. This holiday is also called “bicycle day”.
